Dear 93rd Street Neighbor

Dear 93rd Street Neighbor,

A number of East 93rd Street residents between First and Second Avenue are forming an East 93rd Street Block Association to help improve the quality of life on our street.

Our block is a mess. Garbage cans of every variety and state of disrepair litter the building entrances and sidewalks, frequently spilling out their contents. This is a health hazard for adults and children, attracting vermin, and an unnecessary ugly stain on our environment. The trees, such as remain since the MTA entered our life at the Second Avenue end, are stunted and sad. The sidewalks are frequently filthy.

Besides quality-of-life issues, the poor appearance of 93rd Street negatively impacts sales and rental values, especially in today’s “buyers’ market.” This doesn’t have to be. This neighborhood is our home, and it has many attractive, appealing and convenient features. We shouldn’t allow the poor housekeeping and stunted plantings to neutralize our block’s positive assets.

We hope you share our concern and would be willing to be part of our effort to form a Block Association and clean up. If we are able to organize ourselves into a working group, we can also get help from local officials such as City Council Member Dan Garodnick.

We can do this together!

Please contact us with your name, phone number and email address so we can have your help and get started on improving the quality of life in our block!

Please e-mail: mail@east93blockassoc.org or sign up online- click here for the form and volunteer or just share ideas.

Sincerely,
EAST 93rd STREET BLOCK ASSOCIATION
